On May 26 2025, the first preparatory meeting for the Singapore–China Gala Symphony Concert was successfully held, bringing together key partners, cultural leaders, and institutional supporters to mark the beginning of this landmark cross-cultural collaboration.

The afternoon began at 2:30 PM with a welcome address by Mr. William Wei, Director of Willway Cultural Initiative Ltd., who spoke on the vision of the Gala as a bridge between music, education, and friendship across borders.

Mr. He Jing, Director of the Guizhou International Cultural Association (GZICA), delivered remarks highlighting the significance of regional cooperation and long-term people-to-people exchange. This was followed by an inspiring introduction to the concert project by Maestro Tang Muhai, one of the world’s most respected conductors and Artistic Director of the Shanghai Nine Trees Philharmonic Orchestra and the Zhangjiajie College International Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Chew Ban Seng, representing the Rotary Club, then gave a thoughtful address on Rotary’s commitment.

The session concluded with a thank-you address by Mr. Ng Geok Soon, Director of Willway Cultural Initiative Ltd., expressing appreciation to all participants for their support and shared belief in the concert’s mission.

The meeting set a strong foundation for the journey ahead, with all partners aligned in using music not only to perform, but to connect, educate, and inspire across cultures.
